AA Transportation Co., Inc. provides contract transportation services to more than 30 public and private school districts in Central Massachusetts.
Our Company consists of over 100 van drivers and 300 school bus drivers, with a vehicle for every one of them!
After over 25 years of service, we have established an outstanding reputation for quality school bus services, transporting students to-and-from Home and School.
Each of our school buses carry first aid kits, body fluid clean-up kit, two wheel chock blocks, a fire extinguisher and fire blanket, a seat belt cutter, and three reflective triangles as required by Massachusetts State Law. All Drivers in the Company are trained in how to properly use this equipment.
Most vehicles are equipped with video and audio recording devices and GPS systems. The recordings from this equipment may be used by a contracted school or the Company to investigate damage, theft or other instances that may occur, and or for enforcement of Company Policy.
We also have a 24 hour dispatcher available for emergencies. So if the Office is closed, or if the phone lines are busy, a customer or driver will be able to get in touch with someone in the event of an emergency. Dispatchers can communicate with Drivers using two-way radios or by calling their cell phone.
Our on-site licensed mechanics conduct inspections and maintenance on our Company Vehicles. They are available at all times for repairs, and to aid in the event of an emergency on the road. We closely monitor the condition of all vehicles and regularly perform preventatory maintenance. They ensure that our vehicles are at all times prepared for Registry of Motor Vehicles school bus safety inspections.
All of our employees are subject to annual CORI/SORI background checks, fingerprinting, pre-employment drug screenings and random drug and alcohol testing. We are required to obtain an Annual Driving Record for each driver, as well as Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse annual query.
Our Quality Control Manager reviews Drivers' performance. We monitor driving speeds, as well as the completion of daily vehicle inspections. Every vehicle accident/incident is investigated using GPS technology and cameras, and action is taken promptly.
All full-time and part-time employees are required to attend monthly safety and training meetings for school bus certificate & 7D certificate renewals. This includes Bus Drivers, Van Drivers, Monitors, Mechanics, and Office Staff. The topics of training are required by State or Federal regulation and by law.
ALL Company Drivers are required to complete retraining in the event of an accident, regardless of fault or severity.
