Vehicle Maintenance Liaison

Duties:

  • Schedule routine preventative maintenance for DOT vehicles.
  • Timely, effective communication of all vehicle's safety to staff and management.
  • Maintain all vehicular mandates including registration, tags, insurance and other necessary requirements.
  • Develop a schedule of routines preventative maintenance for all vehicles in the fleet.
  • Collaborate with Compliance and HR regarding driver and vehicle compliance by DOT standard.
  • Monitor and maintain telematics platform, generate monthly reports and distribute these to managers at least weekly as per AA's Transportation Safety Plan. 
  • Direct and problem solve transportation and routine maintenance schedules to create and maximize efficiencies.
  • Develop and maintain metrics to improve fleet program cost effectiveness and safety performance.
  • On-going support and involvement in organizational efforts ensuring OSHA compliance.
  • Coordinate all preventative maintenance and repair efforts on entire fleet ensuring safe operating conditions.  
  • Perform bus driving duties when required.


Requirements:

  • Equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of federal DOT rules and policies, and regulation of fleet management.
  • Knowledge of telematics and vehicle tracking software (we utilize Zonar)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience or knowledge of basic automotive mechanics.
  • Ability to interact well with drivers, showing both compassion as well as consistency. 
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Compliance with all internal policies, federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Must be flexible in adverse work environments.
  • Must be willing to learn new skills and maintain flexibility with various department needs.
  • Work environment requires majority of time moving about inside and outside in varying temperatures.
  • Participate in departmental and organizational meetings and training.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and pass drug screenings, CORI, SORI, driving record check. Must be able to get a 7D and/or CDL license.

CDL School Bus Driver

Duties:

  • Pre/Post Trip vehicle inspection
  • Safely transport students from home-to-school & school-to-home
  •  Guaranteed 25+ Hours Per Week / Split Shift
  • Additional charter work available


Requirements: 

  • Must have had a driver’s license for 3+ consecutive years.
  • Satisfactory Driving Record (no suspension etc.)
  • Ability to pass a background check, CORI & SORI

7D Van Driver

Duties:

Bus Monitor

Duties:

  • Effectively enforce school bus safety rules while on the bus, minivan or car.
  •  Assist in the buckling of children, or other safety equipment, as outlined by safety laws.
  • Assist in the evacuation of children off the vehicle during emergency situations.
  • Assist the driver with directions as defined by a pre-determined route sheet.

Fuel Truck Operator

 Duties:

  • Fuel vehicles at school bus lots as assigned.
  • Fuel the above-ground fuel tanks at various locations.
  • Adjust fluid levels; engine, transmission oils, windshield washer fluid on various fleet vehicles.
  • Check tires for air pressure and overall condition.
  • Make minor repairs to fleet buses.
  • Report maintenance/ repair needs of bus / van fleet to management.
  • Loading the fuel trucks with product at terminals.
  • Keep proper records of amount of fuel put in and out of trucks.
  • Knowledge, understanding, and application of the safety practices related to this position.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the proper handling of hazardous materials relating to this position.
  • Completion of all paperwork and records in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Control, mitigate on, and cleanup of any motor fuel releases.
  • Knowledge and understanding of HAZ-MAT, EPA, OSHA Regulations.
  • Professional representation of AA Transportation and the bus industry.


Requirements: 

  • Knowledge of the operating a fuel truck.
  • Knowledge and understanding of vehicle fueling (Gas & Diesel).
  • Apply knowledge of EPA, HAZ-MAT, and OSHA Regulations.
  • Must be able to read and write and have the mental capacity to complete required paperwork and records.
  • Must possess a minimum of a valid "Class B" Commercial Massachusetts Driver's License, with an air brake endorsement, passenger, tanker and Haz-Mat endorsement.
  • School bus driving as required

Diesel Technician/ Mechanic Full Time

 Duties:

  • Diagnose & repair vehicle (e.g. adjust/test steering, electrical, cooling, lubricating, braking systems, drive trains, suspensions, power steering units, clutches, transmissions and oil, temperature, gas regulating components, etc.) 
  •  Follow prescribed preventative maintenance procedures on all vehicles
  •  Identifies and reports any additional maintenance and/or repairs found necessary in conducting assigned repairs and maintenance
  • Records time spent, parts used, repairs and/or maintenance conducted on appropriate forms and software programs 
  • Ensures that all vehicles are properly prepared for the periodic Registry of Motor Vehicles school bus safety inspections
  •  Performs road calls and on-the-road repairs as necessary 
  • Parking lot and garage maintenance/snow removal 


Requirements: 

  • Technical knowledge of major vehicle systems and diesel/gasoline equipment Knowledge of automotive trade practices, tools, and equipment 
  • Knowledge of construction and operation of automotive electrical systems and internal combustion engines
  •  Knowledge of safety hazards and necessary precautions required to work around, in and under vehicles or to work with petroleum-based chemicals, solvents and exhaust fumes 
  • Ability to locate and repair defects in automotive vehicles and equipment 
  • Ability to use tools and operate diagnostic and power equipment employed in the repair and adjustment of engines and components 
  • Ability to perform diagnostic and mechanical repair work without direct supervision in the shop or in the field 
  • Ability to change and repair tires  
  • Ability to pass a background check, CORI & SORI
  • Must pass DOT pre-employment physical, drug screen and fingerprint background check 
  • Possession of a Commercial Driver’s License with a School Bus/Passenger endorsement or have the ability to obtain such.

Dispatching Office Assistant

 Duties:

  • Coordinate assignments of bus drivers, bus routes, vehicles, and substitutes for morning, mid-day and afternoon shifts.
  • Assist with or coordinate extracurricular transportation.
  • Dispatch drivers and vehicles and communicate with them using a telephone and two-way radio
  • Communicate with parents and school personnel
  • Assist with emergency situations
  • Maintain all required physical and computerized logs, worksheets, files, and reports related to dispatch operations.
  • Perform bus driving duties when required.


Requirements:

  • Completion of a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).
  • Working knowledge of basic computer programs.
  • Working knowledge of school locations and local roadway systems.
  • Ability to read, write, communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and with a two-way radio.
  • Possession of a Commercial Driver’s License with a School Bus/Passenger endorsement or have the ability to obtain such.
  • Ability to collect and organize detailed information and prepare required reports.
  • Ability to pass a background check, CORI & SORI
  • Must pass DOT pre-employment physical, drug screen and fingerprint background check 
  • Dispatch experience preferred.
