You must be at least 25 years old an have at least 3 years driving experience in the United States of America, have a clean driving record, be able to pass a criminal record check & pre-employment drug screen, and Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse query.

If you have EVER held a license in an any other US state beside Massachusetts you will need to obtain a certified CORI and driving record from those states. This must be submitted with your application to MA RMV for a test date once the training process is coming to completion. You must have 3 years driving experience in the USA.
If you are having difficulty with what you are learning, you can email our Training Department Staff at aatraining@aatransportation.com and one of our trainers will assist you.
You will need a total of 60 hours of training and it is broken down by the following: 32 hours of classroom training and 28 hours of on the road driving. This usually takes approx 6-8 weeks.
We pay $14.2 per hour during the training process.There are opportunities to earn additional wages while in the training program.
General Knowledge CDL B Permit $30
CDL Endorsements $10 each when taken at the same time as the CDL Permit CDL Endorsements $30 each when taken after CDL Permit is issued
If you have your CDL, but do not have the appropriate endorsements
(Passenger, School Bus, Air Brake Endorsements) - you will need to obtain your permit for these. You will need 40 hours of training to obtain your School Bus Certificate and will test in front of the inspector.
If you still have your active CDL, but your School Bus Certificate has expired within the last 2 years, you will need 8 hours of training to renew. If your School Bus Certificate has expired more than 2 years ago, you will need 40 hours of training and re-test with an Inspector.

2. Obtain current DOT Physical dated within 90 days. Below is a list of locations that perform DOT Physicals. (Don't schedule until you are ready to take permit tests at the MA RMV)

Go to the Registry of Motor Vehicles to obtain your CDL Class B Permit. Please use this checklist to prepare for your visit o the RMV: https://www.mass.gov/doc/acceptable-forms-of-identification/download Before going to the Mass RMV to take you permit test, we highly recommend visiting the website below. These sites offer free practice tests to better prepare you for the registry. Once you are scoring 90% or above on these practice tests, you are ready to head to the registry to take your permit & endorsement tests.
